Kate Bosworth, who appeared in "21" and "True Blood" actor Alexander Skarsgard have broken up after two years of dating, according to Us Weekly.

It was very mutual," a source told the mag. "And it happened a while ago.
Bosworth, 28, rose to fame after appearing in the 2002 movie "Blue Crush." The actress dated "Lord of the Rings" actor Orlando Bloom between 2002 and 2006. Bloom recently welcomed a child with his wife Miranda Kerr.

Alexander -- who plays ruthless (although recently amnesiac)vampire Eric Northman on the HBO hit series, "True Blood" -- and Kate were spotted getting cozy as recently as April, when the two were photographed holding hands and chatting with friends at the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, Calif.

Skarsgard, 34, is a Swedish actor best known for his role in the HBO series "True Blood." The actor also appeared in the film "Zoolander" and the HBO miniseries "Generation Kill."

The cast of the hit vampire series was recently at San Diego Comic-Con, where Skarsgard reportedly left a party with an unnamed brunette, according to the weekly.

The now-former couple will soon be seen together on the big screen (alongside James Marsden and Dominic Purcell) in the upcoming thriller "Straw Dogs" - due out in theaters on September 16.

Kate, 28, dated former "Pirates of the Caribbean" star Orlando Bloom for four years and was also previously linked to British model James Rousseau, while Alexander is rumored to have briefly dated "Letters to Juliet" beauty Amanda Seyfried, as well as his "True Blood" co-star Evan Rachel Wood.

Unlike the characters Kate Bosworth has portrayed in television and in film which are known as "townies", Kate spent most of her childhood in different cities and states. At age 6, she and her parents moved to San Francisco, then to Connecticut at 9, and to Cohasset, Massachusetts, at 14. It was at 14 that Kate, a champion equestrian, learned of a casting call for a movie about horses.

I'm excited," says DeWyze, who popped the question July 16 over champagne on a private yacht under a fireworks-filled sky at Disney World in Orlando. The couple are planning to wed in the fall of 2012.

Jonna is a Disney freak," he told the magazine. "They were playing love songs on the boat and I got down on my knee and asked her. I had a speech prepared but it all went out the window so I just asked her. She started crying and I said, 'Is that a yes?'"

DeWyze and Walsh, 26, met while shooting a video in October 2010 for his single "Sweet Serendipity.

Don, the fourth named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, gained strength today, with winds increasing to 45 miles (72 kilometers) an hour from 40 mph, according to a National Hurricane Center bulletin at 10:40 a.m. East Coast time today.

The storm was 520 miles east-southeast of Corpus Christi, Texas, heading west-northwest at 14 miles per hour. Maps posted on the center’s website show Don making landfall as a tropical storm in the Corpus Christi area early July 30.

“Don is a small-scale thing,” said Jim Rouiller, senior energy meteorologist at Planalytics Inc. in Berwyn, Pennsylvania. “I think it is important for the energy industry to understand this will represent very little impact. There might be some brief, short-duration shut-ins and they may evacuate non-essential personnel, but the people who keep the pumps going will still be in business.”
Energy companies have begun taking precautions as Don approaches. BP Plc said it shut production at its Atlantis platform, while Anadarko Petroleum Corp. evacuated workers and prepared to shut down its Marco Polo, Nansen, Boomvang, Gunnison, Red Hawk and Constitution production facilities.

A weather system becomes tropical when it develops cyclone characteristics, and becomes a named tropical storm when its winds reach at least 39 mph. A storm becomes a hurricane when winds hit 74 mph.

The U.S. hasn’t had a direct hit from a tropical storm since Bonnie went ashore in Florida in July 2010. The last hurricane to hit the U.S. was Ike, a Category 2 storm, in Texas in 2008.

Previously, satellite imagery indicated a tropical depression or tropical storm could be forming about 90 miles north of Cancún. An Air Force Reserve hurricane hunter aircraft investigated the area and confirmed the presence of circulation within the system.

Tropical Storm Don has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph and is headed west-northwest at 12 mph.

The weather service advises that interests in the central and western Gulf of Mexico should monitor this system. That includes Wharton County, along with the rest of coastal Southeast Texas.

Many tropical cyclones develop when the atmospheric conditions around a weak disturbance in the atmosphere are favorable. The background environment is modulated by climatological cycles and patterns such as the Madden-Julian oscillation, El Niño-Southern Oscillation, and the Atlantic multidecadal oscillation. Others form when other types of cyclones acquire tropical characteristics. Tropical systems are then moved by steering winds in the troposphere; if the conditions remain favorable, the tropical disturbance intensifies, and can even develop an eye. On the other end of the spectrum, if the conditions around the system deteriorate or the tropical cyclone makes landfall, the system weakens and eventually dissipates. It is not possible to artificially induce the dissipation of these systems with current technology.

Wednesday to 20 days in jail for a March drunken-driving crash near Detroit, despite a recommendation that the ESPN analyst and former NBA player not serve jail time and the public support of several prominent figures, including Detroit's mayor.


"I'm humbled, I'm embarrassed, and I'm very apologetic. I can assure everyone that nothing like this will ever happen again," he said.

"This was nothing less than an elected judge legislating from the bench," said Keith Davidson. "This is a man who has given millions of dollars to charity, started schools around the world and worked endlessly for the community, yet her average sentence is 17 days, and she sentenced Mr. Rose to 20 days.


Several prominent figures, including Bing, wrote letters to the court asking for leniency. Rose, who is from Detroit, is opening a school in the city that will bear his own name.


Judge Kimberly Small, known for her tough stance on drunken driving, ordered the former NBA player andUniversity of Michigan basketball star to serve 93 days in jail, but she suspended all but 20 of those days.

Rose, in a brief statement, said he has been "humbled and humiliated by this process."

"I have no one to blame but myself for endangering the community," he told Small.

Rose, 38, was arrested March 11 in West Bloomfield after crashing his Cadillac Escalade on Walnut Lake Road, west of Middlebelt. No one was injured in the single-vehicle crash.

Rose registered a 0.08% on a roadside Breathalyzer, which is the legal limit to be considered drunken driving. Later, a blood test showed a level of 0.12%.

Rose pleaded guilty to a single count of operating a vehicle while under the influence, a 93-day misdemeanor.

The probation department, in its report, did not recommend jail time, Burdick said. Small responded: "The people have hired me, not my probation department."

As the Free Press reported Monday, Small has a record of sending first-time drunken drivers to jail, often for days or weeks. Her average sentences far exceed those of her peers, who often order first-time offenders to serve probation and perform community service.

Small said people hire attorneys in an attempt to stay out of jail, but it's her job to send a message.

"There lies the answer to drunk driving," Small said. "Send a message out there that there will be serious consequences."

What made McNabb and Coach Mike Shanahan such a poor match? The half-buried causes and resentments aren ’t clear even to the participants, but let’s start with unreasonably high expectations that came with McNabb’s “stature,” as his agent puts it.

The Redskins and McNabb seemed to expect something better than what they actually got. When the Redskins obtained McNabb from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for second- and fourth-round draft picks last summer, they thought they were getting a franchise headliner with deep experience, appearances in six Pro Bowls and five NFC championship games. Nothing wrong with that assumption — except they were also getting a 33-year-old veteran who after 11 seasons didn’t quite have the legs he used to, and worse, didn’t have the flexibility to adapt to a new philosophy, either. And who wasn’t inclined to admit, much less correct, some bad habits.

As if that wasn’t enough, there was a subtle but plaguing complication. McNabb no doubt thought his experience could — and should — trump the imaginative flights of the Redskins’ young offensive coordinator, Kyle Shanahan. The offensive coordinator is the coach’s kid, who at 31 is younger than McNabb. When it became clear that Kyle’s precise, almost-computer-like scheme didn’t suit McNabb, who was going to defer to whom? Was McNabb really going to let a junior executive such as Kyle correct his reads, or his footwork, or his inaccuracy?

Only the Shanahans and McNabb know what really happened to sour their relationship — whether McNabb was just a scapegoat or whether he indeed was more image-conscious than industrious.

Anybody who thinks Donovan McNabb choked in the Super Bowl needs to sit down and watch the game again.


First of all, McNabb took an absolute beating that night in Jacksonville. The interior of the Eagles’ offensive line was mauled play after play by Tedy Bruschi, Richard Seymour and Vince Wilfork, and McNabb absorbed a number of brutal shots both before the whistle and after, in the pocket and out.

McNabb’s six-yard TD pass to L.J. Smith that gave the Eagles a 7-0 lead in the second quarter was fairly routine, but his 10-yarder to Brian Westbrook in the third quarter that tied the game at 14-14 was an absolute work of art. McNabb threw a missile that somehow wove its way through three defenders before finding Westbrook in the end zone. And his 30-yarder to Greg Lewis in the game’s final minutes might have been McNabb’s finest pass as a pro -- an absolutely spectacular strike down the seam to a leaping Lewis.

The most baffling thing about that Super Bowl is that McNabb is blamed for everything when nobody else on the team other than Terrell Owens did much of anything to help the Eagles’ cause.

Westbrook is never mocked for his mediocre rushing performance (15 carries for 44 yards). Brian Dawkins is never mocked for not making a single play in the biggest game of his life. Nobody ever brings up Jevon Kearse’s inability to bring any pressure on Tom Brady or the fact that the Patriots’ tailbacks ran for 113 clock-consuming yards against Darwin Walker and Corey Simon and the Eagles’ vaunted defensive interior.

Eli Manning put up 17 points in a Super Bowl against the Patriots and was hailed as a superhero. Donovan put up 21 points in a Super Bowl against the Patriots and was dismissed as a choker.

This wasn’t a great performance by McNabb, but he was certainly not the biggest or the only reason the Eagles lost that day.

The verdict now seems clear, though the method of arriving at it by benching him was unpleasant and painful to watch. In the end, there was no arguing with the statistics: McNabb had the second-worst completion percentage of his career, and threw more interceptions (15) than touchdowns (14). It was obvious that the Shanahans had to look for a quarterback with whom they are more compatible.

That they’ve identified John Beck as that quarterback is an oblique comment on just how dissatisfied they were with McNabb. Among Beck’s qualities: he’s young, malleable, fleet, accurate, gung ho, and an apple polisher. Also, he’s unsung. Which apparently will be a relief to them.

The former heavyweight champ recently came to West Michigan to swap places with another man who’s also named Mike Tyson --  only this one’s a nurse at a clinic in Grand Rapids.

It’s all part of a brand new reality TV show for CBS called Same Name.

Michael Gerard "Mike" Tyson (born June 30, 1966) is a retired American boxer. Tyson is a former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and holds the record as the youngest boxer to win the WBC, WBA and IBF world heavyweight titles, he was 20 years, 4 months and 22 days old. Tyson won his first 19 professional bouts by knockout, with twelve of them occurring in the first round. He won the WBC title in 1986 after defeating Trevor Berbick by a TKO in the second round. In 1987, Tyson added the WBA and IBF titles after defeating James Smith and Tony Tucker. He was the first heavyweight boxer to simultaneously hold and only Heavyweight to individually unify the WBA, WBC and IBF titles.

Tyson – the boxer - says he learned something about himself while on the job and says the experience helped him learn how to be a better person.

Local TV station Newschannel 3 was on hand for the taping of the new show and asked Tyson why he got involved in the project.

“I felt it was crazy,” Tyson told the station, “and the more I kept associating with these kind of bizarre shows, like Funny or Die and all these things, I became somewhat used to making a fool of myself, it comes pretty natural.”

In 1992, Tyson was convicted of raping Desiree Washington, for which he was sentenced to six years in prison[1] but was released after serving three years. After being released from prison in 1995, he engaged in a series of comeback fights. In 1996, Tyson won the WBC and WBA titles after defeating Frank Bruno and Bruce Seldon by knockout. After being stripped of the WBC title, Tyson lost his WBA crown to Evander Holyfield in November, 1996 by an 11th round TKO. Their 1997 rematch ended when Tyson was disqualified for biting off part of Holyfield's ear.

In 2002, he fought for the world heavyweight title at the age of 35, losing by knockout to Lennox Lewis. Tyson retired from professional boxing in 2006 after he was knocked out in consecutive matches against Danny Williams and Kevin McBride. Tyson declared bankruptcy in 2003, despite receiving over US$30 million for several of his fights and $300 million during his career.

Former Manchester United striker Forlan added the second three minutes from the interval when Egidio Arevalo cleverly intercepted the ball to release the Atletico Madrid attacker who confidently buried a left-footed strike.


Uruguay, three-time winners of the tournament in its modern format, will now face either Venezuela, who have never lifted the continental competition, or 1979 champions Paraguay in Sunday's final.

Norway gun suspect acted alone the men

It is becoming clearer that Anders Behring Breivik, the 32-year-old suspect in Friday's attacks in Norway, held radical right-wing views.

Police chief Sveinung Sponheim said his internet postings "suggest that he has some political traits directed toward the right, and anti-Muslim views".

In a post in Norwegian in an online forum on December 2009, a user named Anders Behring Breivik claims there is not one country where Muslims have peacefully lived with non-Muslims, stating that instead it has had "catastrophic consequences" for non-Muslims.

"One of his good work-out buddies was from the Middle East, and it seems as though they were good friends all through junior high school, and hung out a lot together," Michael Tomala said.

"It seems as though he has taken a completely different direction than what we knew of him from junior high school."

He later appears to have moved out of the city and established Breivik Geofarm, a company Norwegian media is describing as a farming sole proprietorship set up to cultivate vegetables, melons, roots and tubers.

 The man accused of killing at least 93 people in Norway has said he carried out the bombing and mass shooting, authorities said Sunday, as an ashen-faced and openly weeping King Harald V led the nation in mourning.

The suspect has not pleaded guilty, and said he acted alone with no accomplice, acting National Police Chief Sveinung Sponheim told reporters Sunday.

At least four people have not been accounted following the shooting on Utoya island that left at least 86 people dead.

"We are very shocked that this man was connected to our company," said Estenstad. "We are very sad about what happened."

"The United States strongly condemns any kind of terrorism no matter where it comes from or who perpetuates it, and this tragedy strikes right at the heart of the soul of a peaceful people," she said in a statement.

"It is very important that those who are responsible -- one or several persons -- are sentenced according to Norwegian law, in the Norwegian system of justice," he said.

The Massachusetts native will bring his “All Night Noise” tour back to Boston for a homecoming show on Saturday, October 8. Tickets for the show, which range in price from $25 to $39.50, are now on sale now through Live Nation.
Nathanson is touring in support of his brand new album, Modern Love. After the success of his 2007 breakthrough album Some Mad Hope and its top ten single “Come On Get Higher”, expectations for Nathanson’s followup album soared. Taking his first break from touring in 15 years, the singer-songwriter put together the 11-song with friend and collaborator Mark Weinberg, taking more risks and stretching himself musically in the process.
“That was a sexy song and it connected, people got it,” said Nathanson about his smash hit “Come On Get Higher” in a press release. “So we started with the idea of keeping a groove steady the whole way through a song. I wanted things to breathe and hang off these songs in a way that defied the fact that they were written on an acoustic guitar.”
